I have been gathering useful websites that our students might find useful during the research process for completing assignments at Basehor-Linwood Middle School in Linwood, Kansas. I have a list of interactive links on one of my school webpages -
Online Reference Tools
Do you have any others to suggest that you think students could use? If so, please post them, thanks!

I noticed you were under the School, Public library heading. I am in St. John. We also have a community library. We have a seperate building right next to the K-12 school so the students come over to us. There is a library board but I also deal with the school board who have control of the purse strings. They are struggling with funding as all school districts are. I would like to have some conversations with the rest of this group and see how the finances are handled.
ReplyDeleteHi KSB,
ReplyDeleteThat is an interesting setup. Our district considered doing a similar setup in the Linwood community. It would double the resources and the use of the resources in a small community. In our case, they were discussing moving the public library into the school building and a conflict started about the sharing of restrooms with the public throughout the day. I have two separate jobs. I am a full time school librarian for Basehor-Linwood District west of KC and work part time as reference librarian at Leavenworth Public Library. My school budget was shut down within the first couple of months of school, times are definitely tough. Good luck! Cynthia Hesser chesser@usd458.org
